WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has threatened to sue The New York Times over its reporting on his Thursday, August 8, press conference at Mar-a-Lago, where he discussed an emergency landing during a helicopter ride with Willie Brown.

On Friday, the former president stood by his claim that he was in a dangerous helicopter landing with the former mayor of San Francisco, insisting he had proof despite Brown’s denial.

Donald Trump slammed the publication for its coverage of his press conference during a phone call with a New York Times reporter on Friday, when he landed hours from his rally in Bozeman, Montana, due to a mechanical problem with his plane.

On Thursday, Brown denied that he had ever been in a helicopter with the GOP presidential candidate. According to the NYT, Trump may have confused Willie Brown with Jerry Brown, the former governor of California, with whom he traveled by helicopter in 2018 to inspect wildfire damage in the state.

Additionally, Jerry Brown’s spokesman stated, “There was no emergency landing and there was no talk about Kamala Harris.”

Willie Brown, who briefly dated Kamala Harris in the 1990s, knew Trump as a potential business partner when the real estate magnate was working on new projects.

Trump said Friday that he has the “flight data of the helicopter,” adding that it landed “in a field.” He also said he plans to release the data and that he will “probably sue” the NYT over the article.

Interestingly, the former president already mentioned the helicopter emergency landing in his 2023 book ‘Letters to Trump’.

Internet Trolls Donald Trump Threaten to Sue The New York Times

Internet users reacted strongly to Donald Trump and he threatened to sue The New York Times for questioning his story about the helicopter.

One comment read, “Trump always threatens to sue but rarely follows through,” and another comment read, “If they were in a helicopter during the Paradise fire, it would have been Marine 1. And if Marine 1 crashed in an emergency, it would have been in every newspaper! Worldwide!”

Someone said, “He’s so far gone he doesn’t even know he’s lying. DonOld is done,” while someone else said, “Trump has threatened to sue an individual, news station, or construction company/supplier hundreds of times. Threatening to sue is one of his hobbies.”

“What an idiot. I have to say, if there’s one thing about Trump that’s impressive, it’s how easily he can spout lie after lie,” someone else wrote, while yet another said, “Go ahead, big mouth. You know the case will be dismissed before an investigation is even conducted.”
