The year 2025 is still a while away, but that doesn’t mean John Cena is out of the news at WWE. He announced his farewell tour during the Money in the Bank premium live event in Toronto, challenging the entire locker room to don his hat as well.

The tour will literally last an entire year and while no opponents have been chosen yet (there are many who are joining, including The Miz, Joe Hendry, CM Punk, etc.), Cena does know for sure how many dates he will be booked for.

“I’m retiring in 2025 and I’m starting that farewell tour in January,” he confirmed to Collider, via Fightful. “I’m going to retire in December and it’s going to be about 36 dates around the world to show thanks and appreciation to the WWE audience around the world. So that’s what I’m going to be doing in 2025.”

Well, there you have it, folks.

John Cena will appear on a total of 36 dates worldwide. Which ones will of course be determined over the months, but you can bet that they will all be at the four biggest live events (Royal Rumble 2025, Wrestlemania 41, Summerslam 2025 and Survivor Series 2025).

While all that is sorted out and he has to juggle his WWE schedule around his film commitments in Hollywood, the wrestling legend and star of The Peacemaker is still waiting to be told who he has to face first.

It could be anyone, but not everyone is worth seeing.
