Quan Zihua, a representative of the athlete’s hometown, told Haibo News that about 1,000 people visit her home every day.

The villagers have turned the street in front of the bar queen’s house into a snack street where you can buy many local delicacies.

Large portraits of Quan are placed at the entrance to the village and its ancestral hall, and tourists can take photos with them.

A large parking lot for tourists was also built in the village, decorated with the symbol of the Olympic rings.

The pair of flame trees in front of her home have also become a popular photo spot for those seeking wealth and success.

Quan won gold in the 10-meter platform diving event and also teamed with teammate Chen Yuxi to win gold in the 10-meter platform diving event in Paris.

In the 10-meter platform final, she scored a full 10 points, beating her 18-year-old teammate Chen with a total score of 425.60.

It wasn’t as astonishing a feat as her record score of 466.20 points from the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. Quan was just 14 at the time and met the minimum age requirement for the games, which were postponed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In Paris, however, Quan overcame height and weight issues that posed major challenges to her technique.

Quan and Chen reached such a level that their rivalry was dubbed the “Clash of the Titans.”

Quan also unwittingly created several bestsellers on Chinese e-commerce platforms, including her beloved turtle dolls and the “ugly fish slippers” she wore in Paris.

On August 9, she also topped a list of e-commerce influencers among Olympic athletes published by China’s largest e-commerce platform Taobao, owned by Alibaba Group, owner of the South China Morning Post.

She is the second-youngest Chinese Olympic gold medalist in diving, after Fu Mingxia, who also became a sensation when she won the gold medal in the 10-meter platform diving in Barcelona in 1992, aged 13.

Quan’s carefree and straightforward nature helped her attract a large number of fans.

After winning her first gold in Paris, she showed her gold medal to fans by showing it to them with her hand.

“I won a gold medal just to brag,” she joked.
