A’ja Wilson is a two-time gold medalist, two-time WNBA champion, two-time WNBA MVP and six-time All-Star with a statue of himself at the University of South Carolina.

It makes perfect sense then that she is the first player in WNBA history to receive an overall rating of 99 in NBA 2K.

That’s exactly what happened on Thursday, when 2K Sports revealed that the Las Vegas Aces star will be the highest-rated WNBA player in 2K history with a 99 overall in NBA2K25. She’s not the only star player raising the bar this season, as the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese are the highest-rated rookies ever with a 90 overall.

However, these ratings could still change before the game’s release on September 4, as the WNBA season is still ongoing.

But it’s hard to imagine Wilson’s rating will change.

After all, she’s well on her way to a third career MVP, averaging 27.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from three. Her Aces are going for a third straight championship, which would only further cement her case as one of the best players in league history.

Gamers will have the chance to become their own WNBA GOAT when NBA2K25 launches, as one of the changes coming to this year’s game is the Pursuit of Greatness story mode.

Players will be part of the headline 2024 WNBA rookie class alongside Clark and Reese and gradually build their resumes with individual accolades and championships. As they do so, they’ll see visuals that map out where they rank on the GOAT list and which players they’re still chasing.

There will also be press conferences available for WNBA players for the first time, which will be available as players add to their list of accomplishments and rise to the GOAT list.

Online mode is also looking different. On Thursday, 2K Sports announced that W Online will feature a new outdoor field in a forest and that players will be able to compete in 3v3 multiplayer games while working toward weekly community goals.

The W Online mode will also feature a mentor feature, allowing players to take on and mentor others who have not yet reached Game Changer status, while earning rewards as mentees complete various challenges.

NBA2K25, featuring new WNBA modes and player rankings, is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
